Employment Relations (Essential Services) Amendment Bill

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1. Title
This Act is the Employment Relations (Essential Services) Amendment Act 2009.

2. Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it received the Royal Assent.

3. Purpose
The purpose of this Act is to amend Schedule 1 of the Employment Relations Act 2000 to remove the meat and dairy industries from the list of essential services.

4. Principal Act Amended
This Act amends the Employment Relations Act 2000.

5. Schedule 1 Amended
Schedule 1 is amended by:
(a) repealing clause 15 of part A; and
(b) repealing part B

6. Consequential Amendments
(1) Section 90(3)(a)(ii) is repealed;
(2) Section 91(3)(a)(ii) is repealed;
